yOu are Welcome here
Bradford Unitarian is a welcoming, independent church in the free religious ‘Unitarian’ tradition. In practical terms Unitarian means using the non-creedal flexibility of Liberal Christianity as a starting point to explore the ideas that God is love, people are one, life is one. In practice this means inviting people with open minds to
explore faith, community, and the arts together. Join us every Sunday morning from 10.30 for a 10.45 start
What to expect: we usually begin with opening words and a candle lighting to bring focus, we share songs, readings, reflection, give time for silence and hear a ‘thought for the day’ style talk from the minister Jo James (see some here)
We are an inclusive church because we acknowledge that every individual is of inherent worth, every path is different but every expression of love can be a pathway to the holy. Thats why we affirm diverse expressions of sexuality and why we are registered to celebrate same-sex as well as opposite sex weddings
Freedom of conscience
we affirm that ‘truth is best served where the mind and the conscience are free‘. We dont seek to coerce or direct your own understanding but instead invite you to share in exploration and participation with others in the free religious journey.
